Product Inspection, Cargo Survey

The inspection of the product, or the audit of its properties and qualities, is an important part of the procurement process. Non-compliance of the product with the quality and quantity requirements, non-compliance with the standards of packaging, loading, unloading-can shorten the life cycle of the product, cause loss of business reputation, the product itself and profit, delay in shipments, material consumption, and return of the product.

Commodity inspection is equally an urgent task for export and import cargo. Foreign trade contracts must necessarily include the terms of the audit of the goods at any stage of the production cycle.

Pre – Production Inspection (PPI) – inspection of raw materials and materials for the production of goods. During the inspection, raw materials, materials, components, production lines will be checked, samples of manufactured products will be obtained.

Inspection during production (DPI) – inspection to identify problems, manufacturing defects, product defects at an early stage of production. This inspection is most effective at 20-30% of the production stage of the product batch.

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) – checking the manufactured goods for compliance with the stated requirements, quality and quantity standards. Pre-shipment inspection is effective after the end of production, at 100% of the production stage of the batch of goods, when at least 80% of the batch is packed. Next, the following aspects are checked: general, appearance, product functions, size, labeling, packaging, and so on, in accordance with the specification.

Control of the loading process (LS) (Loading Supervision) – checking for compliance with the shipped goods stated in the accompanying documents, compliance with the loading requirements. The inspection is carried out on the day of loading into the vehicle, during which the following aspects are checked: the exact quantity, the integrity of the package, the marking, the loading conditions. At the end of the inspection, the vehicle is sealed in the presence of the inspector.
