The Russian Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Sciences on Thursday will sign a cooperation agreement on research related to COVID-19, the RAS press service reported.
“It is planned to develop new forms of cooperation and dialogue between academies in all areas related to the coronavirus, its nature, methods of treatment and prevention,” the message says.
The parties reportedly plan to develop cooperation between scientists in the field of epidemiological, virological, molecular biological research of COVID-19, studying the pathophysiology of a new infection, in mathematical and computer modeling of the spread of a pandemic, socio-economic and psychological consequences of coronavirus, strengthening global security and countering biological threats. …
On behalf of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the protocol will be signed by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Sergeev. From the American – the head of the US National Academy of Sciences Marsha McNutt, as well as the heads of the National Academy of Medicine Victor Zawi and the National Academy of Technology John Anderson. The signing will take place in the format of a video conference.
